Optometry
north of the 49th parallel
On her childhood travels to the North with her optician father, Marie Trudel discovered that the art of adjusting frames is subject to the challenges of morphological features, which are in turn related to geography: the rounded temples of Quebec’s northern residents, often burnt by the cold, require perfect adjustment. No matter what latitude Marie Trudel works at today, she demonstrates the same passion, precision, and attention to detail in order to ensure optimal comfort.
Since 2007, Marie Trudel has been running mobile clinics to serve the communities of James Bay, in cooperation with the Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay. For several weeks a year, she travels the north with optometrist Alain Gélinas. Her visits are planned in accordance with the weather and the hunting and fishing seasons.
